Lights Win at Ruidoso, 9-5
|
Phoenix and Ruidoso got after it at Bear Cave.
The Phoenix Lights beat the Ruidoso Osos, 9-5, at Bear Cave. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Ricardo Rivadeneyra, who captured player of the game honors. He drew 5 walks, while scoring 3 times. Phoenix reliever Ernesto Guevara got the win, raising his record to 5-2. Terry Outlaw was tagged with the loss.
Cristóbal Rodríguez aided the Phoenix cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rivadeneyra said after the game.
The Lights sit in 4th place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division with a record of 47-49.
