Beasley Goes Wild, But Beetlecats Win

The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Buzzard's Bay fans at Bloomfield Road.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats defeated the Biloxi Bullets, 7-5. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Bill Beasley, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Beetlecats bumped their record to 47-46 with this latest triumph.
Had Mitsunori Nauert not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Nauert hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 7-4, in favor of the Beetlecats.
When asked about his performance after the game, Nauert said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
