Rats Lose, 5-3, at The Corn Crib
|
DeKalb Cornhuskers starter Seamus Floyd was in fine form against the Rock River Rats at The Corn Crib, leading his team to a 5-3 win. DeKalb reliever Francisco Flores got the win, raising his record to 1-0. José Mendoza was tagged with the loss. The Cornhuskers sit in 4th place in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 47-50.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Lorenzo Hernández drew a walk. The Cornhuskers went on to win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hernández said after the game.
