It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.
The Boise Hawks got a stellar effort from pitcher Mauro Vázquez, helping Boise score a 5-1 win over the visiting Jacksonville Hellcats. The Hawks bumped their record to 52-46 with this latest triumph.
Cheol-chung Back, who is tied for 5th in the CLL with a .423 on-base percentage, aided the Boise cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-2 with a walk.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Vázquez said after the game.
