The rain at Bloomfield Road did not keep Buzzard's Bay and Biloxi from finishing their game.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats had to overcome a big game from Biloxi catcher Bill Beasley to leave Bloomfield Road with a 6-5 victory. Beasley went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kenny Moran, credited with the save, is now 18 for 18 in save opportunities.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from catcher Ángel Aquino. For the game, Aquino went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 6-5 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Aquino said.
The Beetlecats bumped their record to 46-46 with this latest triumph.
