Bullets Get Road Win, 8-6
|
The Biloxi Bullets knocked off the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 8-6, at Bloomfield Road. Bill Beasley, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Biloxi won. The catcher went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Doug Durham earned his 18th save in 21 chances. The Bullets, at 35-57, sit in last place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
Biloxi used the timely hitting of Dusty Hicks to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bullets on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Bullets manager Manuel Ruíz. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
