Spartans Bang Out 9-0 Win Versus Spokane

The Sandy Springs Spartans trumped the Spokane Bulldogs, 9-0, at The Kennel. Sandy Springs first baseman Tokio Yamaguchi was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sandy Springs reliever Tony Mejía was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ruben Fernandez took the loss for Spokane. The Spartans bumped their record to 47-46 with this latest triumph.
In the top of the third inning, designated hitter Keisaku Yamashita came through big-time for the Spartans. With Sandy Springs leading 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Yamaguchi. "And not try to do too much."
