Cornhuskers Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Long Island
The rain came, as predicted, but the DeKalb Cornhuskers and Long Island Ducks were able to complete their ballgame.

The DeKalb Cornhuskers bested the Long Island Ducks by a score of 6-3, with catcher Gerald Easler getting the main credit. On the day, Easler was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Cornhuskers. Kunikazu Lookingbill converted his 5th save in 7 tries.

Easler had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 cutter from Sean Wheelock, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Cornhuskers a 4-3 lead. It was the 46th hit of the year for Easler.

"I believe in our guys," said DeKalb skipper Eduardo Varerla. "I like the energy they're playing with."

Long Island now has a 5-game losing streak.
