The DeKalb Cornhuskers got a good effort from starter Chris Sanchez in defeating the Long Island Ducks at The Corn Crib. The final score was 3-2. Kunikazu Lookingbill converted his 4th save in 6 tries. The 4th-place Cornhuskers have won 4 in a row.
Mitsumasa Brothers's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for DeKalb. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and DeKalb leading 1-0, the third baseman reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla said.
