Beetlecats Turn Back Monarchs, 5-4
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats scored a 5-4 win versus the Marysville Monarchs at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay pitcher Qing-lai Juan nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Juan went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-7. At 44-45, Buzzard's Bay is in 4th place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
Early in the game, catcher Jaime Valéncia had a bases-clearing triple for Buzzard's Bay. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Beetlecats on top, 4-1.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Valéncia said.
