The Rams had to overcome a good performance from Youngstown pitcher Luis Vásquez to claim a 2-1 win at Outlander Park. Vásquez went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Frisco reliever Jim Currie got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Luis Vásquez was tagged with the loss. The Tune-Ups, now 37-54, have lost 5 straight.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Neal Thacker stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 56th hit of the season and put Frisco in front, 2-1.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Thacker. "Just do my job."
