Victory Over Bulldogs Takes Fraser Valley to 54-35
|
Fraser Valley and Spokane duked it out at The Kennel and the Black Bears came out victorious.
The Spokane Bulldogs got a superb performance from third baseman Chia-liang Li, but the Fraser Valley Black Bears still won the game, 8-5. Li was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Yoshiiku Kikuchi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 10 save opportunities.
Robby Nave, who is tied for 2nd in the RHL in home runs with 19, aided the Fraser Valley cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Nave said.
The win boosts the Black Bears to 54-35. The loss puts the Bulldogs at 40-49.
