Kono Excels in Boise Win
The Boise Hawks trumped the Riverside Red Bulls, 10-8, at Red Bull Stadium. Boise center fielder Umito Kono was named player of the game for his performance. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs. Jesús Ordóñez converted his 13th save in 16 tries. The Hawks bumped their record to 48-42 with this latest triumph.

Kono had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the third when the 22-year old right fielder hit a single. The single gave Boise the lead, 4-2. It was his 69th hit of the season.

In postgame comments to the Boise News, Kono said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
