The Ruidoso Osos defeated the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 2-1, in Cory Lidle League action at Bear Cave, with Ruidoso pitcher Harold Wilford named player of the game. Ruidoso reliever Bob Beck got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Takashi Toru was tagged with the loss. The Osos bumped their record to 48-41 with this latest triumph.

Had Tony Cervantes not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cervantes hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Osos.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Buzzard's Bay manager Enrique Ramírez.
