Tune-Ups Walk Off with 5-4 Win
|
In a close game at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, the Youngstown Tune-Ups edged the Jacksonville Hellcats, 5-4. Youngstown second baseman Travis Hickey earned the nod as player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Youngstown is in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League with a record of 37-49.
Hickey had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Javier Sánchez, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Tune-Ups a 5-4 lead. It was the 30th hit of the year for Hickey.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Hickey said.
