Spartans Win in Extras
|
The rain at Long Island Stadium did not keep Sandy Springs and Long Island from finishing their game.
The Spartans had to overcome a fine effort from Long Island pitcher António Domínguez to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Long Island Stadium. Domínguez went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Peng Zhi notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Douglas Dill made it 2-1, Sandy Springs, in the top of the tenth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Spartans win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Long Island manager Blake Malone, "let me know."
The 4th-place Ducks have dropped 5 straight games.
