Hawks Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Boise Hawks topped the Youngstown Tune-Ups by the score of 9-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Daiki Nakamura. Nakamura went 1-2 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Hawks on the day. Tommy Montgomery, the winner, improved to 6-4. He held the Tune-Ups to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Jesús Ordóñez notched his 12th save in 15 chances.
Umito Kono hit a 2-run double off Juan Ortíz in the top of the fifth, which put the Hawks in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Kono had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Boise manager Tom Becker.
The third-place Hawks have won 4 in a row.
