The Rock River Rats beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-4, at The Coliseum. Rock River first baseman Jim Feightner earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. The winner was José López, who threw 144 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits.
