Hawks Come Back Late to Clip Tune-Ups
|
Boise overcame a superlative game from Rudy Cortez to beat Youngstown, 4-3. The Youngstown pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Boise has now won 3 straight, while the Tune-Ups have lost 3 in a row.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Bill Rendell hit a sacrifice fly. The Hawks took the lead, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Youngstown manager Robby Tate.
