Bill Hardwick helped his team muscle past the Marysville Monarchs, 6-3. In the game, the Ruidoso third baseman went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner was Aubrey Williamsen, who threw 95 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 11 hits. The Osos bumped their record to 46-40 with this latest triumph.
Hardwick had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from Marlon Douglas, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Osos a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Hardwick.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Hardwick told reporters after the game.
