Black Bears Subdue Long Island, 4-2

Fraser Valley right-hander Eric Sanford pitched his team to victory over the Long Island Ducks at Long Island Stadium. The final score was 4-2. The Black Bears bumped their record to 49-33 with this latest triumph.
Jim Poole drove in one run for Fraser Valley. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Yasukazu Kouda. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"It was a good effort all around," said Sanford.
