Monarchs Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Ruidoso
|
The Marysville Monarchs topped the Ruidoso Osos, 6-1, with youngster Kyousuke Ohnuki playing a key role. Ohnuki went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Monarchs in the win. Marysville reliever Ryan Le Carré picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Fidel Castro was saddled with the loss. Walker Baldwin notched his 4th save in 7 chances.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from left fielder Matt Roth. For the game, Roth went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Marysville a 2-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Roth said after the game.
The Monarchs now own a record of 38-45.
