Yamaguchi Stars in Spartans Win
|
The Sandy Springs Spartans knocked off the Boise Hawks, 8-4, at The Coliseum. Tokio Yamaguchi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Sandy Springs won. The first baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ronnie Priest got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The Spartans bumped their record to 41-40 with this latest triumph.
Yamaguchi had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Spartans went on to win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Yamaguchi said.
