Boise Hawks starter Tommy Montgomery was in fine form against the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Coliseum, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Boise reliever Philippe Vincent got the win, raising his record to 1-4. Toshio Kawabata was tagged with the loss. The Hawks bumped their record to 43-38 with this latest triumph.

Aaron Poor's hit in the top of the 12th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Jonathan Woodward for a run-scoring single. It put Boise in front, 3-2.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Poor.
