Wolverines Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Biloxi
|
The first-place Wichita Wolverines welcomed Biloxi to Howling Park.
Wichita pitcher Jay Retter did his part in helping his team beat the Biloxi Bullets, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Wichita improves to 48-31 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
Bob Wright, who is tied for 6th in the RHL in bases on balls with 53, aided the Wichita cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Retter called the win "a collective effort."
