Rock River got a strong outing from José López as the Rats defeated the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 2-1, at The Rat Hole. The Rats have an impressive 49-30 record.
Rock River took a 2-1 lead on Bob Nisbet's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Nisbet hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Youngstown pitcher Yu-xing Law shaking his head.
"José was throwing strikes, locating well," said Rock River manager Bruce Leah.
