Osos first baseman Frank Chaulk put his stamp on his team's 9-4 win over the Fraser Valley Black Bears. Chaulk was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Ruidoso in the contest. Fidel Castro, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Black Bears to 1 earned run on 1 hit over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 7. The Osos bumped their record to 44-36 with this latest triumph.

Ruidoso took a 9-4 lead on Chaulk's 11th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Yoichibei Matsubara in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Ruidoso to the win.

"We played hard and won," said Chaulk. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
