The Fraser Valley Black Bears did just enough to sneak past the Ruidoso Osos, 6-5, at Bear Cave. Fraser Valley pitcher Luis González earned player of the game honors. Yoshiiku Kikuchi notched his 4th save in 5 chances. The Black Bears bumped their record to 46-30 with this latest triumph.

Had Shimpei Fujita not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Fujita hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Black Bears.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Fujita. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
