Spartans Lose, 5-2, at UFO Field

Phoenix played host to Sandy Springs at the friendly confines of UFO Field.
The Phoenix Lights defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 5-2. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Miles Gregg, who was 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks. He scored 2 times. Phoenix reliever Ernesto Guevara picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Riley Goodall absorbed the loss.
The Lights got a big at-bat from designated hitter Hakaru Fukuda. For the game, Fukuda was 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Phoenix a 1-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Gregg said.
Phoenix bumps their record to 35-39 with the win.
