Hellcats Raise Rally Flag, Beat Madison, 4-1
|
The 2034 season is getting ugly for Madison.
The Jacksonville Hellcats topped the Madison Beehive, 4-1, in Cory Lidle League action at Hellcats Park. The player of the game was Jacksonville pitcher and Salt Lake City, Utah native Eugene Spencer. In 8 innings, Spencer surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Tadakatsu Murayama was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 6 save opportunities.
Jason Colaianni, who is tied for 3rd in the CLL in extra base hits with 34, aided the Jacksonville cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a double.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Spencer.
Even with the win, the Hellcats have a dismal 26-49 record.
