The Stetson Bowl was the site for Roy Halladay League action featuring the Fraser Valley Black Bears and Wichita Wolverines.

The Wichita Wolverines got a strong performance from pitcher Jay Retter, who stymied the Fraser Valley offense en route to a 7-1 win at The Stetson Bowl. Wichita improves to 46-28 with the win. They lead their division by 2˝ games.

The Wolverines got a big at-bat from right fielder Bob Wright. For the game, Wright was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Wichita a 2-0 lead.

"This is a very good team," said Retter. "We have the chance to do something special."
