The Cabo San Lucas Toreros topped the Bloomington Blazers, 4-2, in Thurman Munson League action at Arson Arena. The player of the game was Cabo San Lucas pitcher and Hastings, England native Ashley Heath. Heath got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Heath allowed no earned runs. Tomio Nakahara, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from first baseman Barry Ross. For the game, Ross was 1-4 with a walk. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 31st hit of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 2-1 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Heath.
Even with the win, the Toreros have a dismal 13-25 record.
