Osos Subdue Boise, 5-3
|
The Ruidoso Osos defeated the Boise Hawks, 5-3, at Bear Cave. Ruidoso right fielder Vicente Cetulio was named player of the game for his superb performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ruidoso reliever Justin Beltrani was the winner. His record is now 4-0. The losing pitcher was Katsunosuki Suzuki. The Osos, now 42-34, have won 5 in a row.
Cetulio had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 curveball from Jesús Ordóñez, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Osos a 5-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Cetulio.
In postgame comments to the Ruidoso Observer, Cetulio said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
