Red Bulls Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus Marysville
|
The Riverside Red Bulls topped the Marysville Monarchs by the score of 7-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Wilson Rodríguez. Rodríguez went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Red Bulls on the day. Riverside starter Juan Carlos Gómez was credited with the win after throwing 95 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 7-2. Riverside now sits in second place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League at 41-32.
Rodríguez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Riverside in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Rodríguez took a fastball from Kevin Bongarzone and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Red Bulls to leap in front, 2-1.
