Tune-Ups Stymie Biloxi, Take 5-1 Win
|
Benefiting from Brian Briggs's productive game, the Youngstown Tune-Ups downed the Biloxi Bullets, 5-1. Briggs went 2 for 4 with a home run for the Tune-Ups. Youngstown reliever Don Hart picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Taylor MacRuer absorbed the loss. Youngstown is 5th in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League with a record of 31-38.
Briggs had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 cutter from Taylor MacRuer, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Tune-Ups a 2-1 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Briggs.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Briggs.
