Bryant Delivers Walk-Off Win for Spartans
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a superb performance from pitcher Jo-hsi Sang. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Sandy Springs. The Spartans won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Sang was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Reliever Peng Zhi picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Lorenzo Ortega took the loss. Sandy Springs, at 33-36, sits in 5th place in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division.
Jaden Bryant had the critical at-bat for Sandy Springs. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off 2-run single. It gave Sandy Springs the 4-3 walk-off win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Antonio manager Adrián Carne. "But we decided not to take it."
