Ruidoso beat Youngstown at Bear Cave, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Fidel Castro, who earned player of the game honors. Harold Wilford was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The Osos bumped their record to 37-33 with this latest triumph.
Sang-hyun Hong aided the Ruidoso cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Castro attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
