Rubber City Rhinos starter Vincent Vickers was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Seattle Sasquatch, 4-2. Vickers, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Rubber City, now 18-22, holds 5th place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
Billy Joel, who is tied for 5th in the RCL in stolen bases with 16, helped out the Rubber City cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Joel told the Rubber City Herald.
