Red Bulls Fall Short, 4-3, at Youngstown
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups bested the Riverside Red Bulls, 4-3, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Brian Briggs was named player of the game. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Tune-Ups saw their record improve to 28-36.
Briggs contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Youngstown in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Briggs took a splitter from Masayoshi Tanaka and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Tune-Ups to leap in front, 4-2.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Briggs.
