Red Bulls Stay Hot, Beat Tune-Ups
|
The Riverside Red Bulls knocked off the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 9-3, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Omar Fernandez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Riverside won. The left fielder was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Duncan Jennings picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-7. He struck out 1 in 5.1 innings. The Red Bulls, at 37-28, have now won 5 straight.
Fernandez had a key at-bat for Riverside early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and gave Riverside an early 2-0 lead.
"The vibe's good," said Riverside manager Will Hunt. "We've got to keep it going."
