Tight Tilt Goes to Snaps, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Snaps defeated the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 4-3, at The Clone Army today. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was first baseman Josh Maillard. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Octávio Pérez, credited with the win, is now 2-6. He allowed 3 runs on 13 hits in 8 innings. Bryan Blashill was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 17 save opportunities.
Maillard contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Cincinnati in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Maillard took a curveball from Hector Valencia and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Snaps to leap in front, 4-2.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said San Antonio skipper Adrián Carne.
Cincinnati is now 28-36.
