Cornhuskers Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Long Island
The DeKalb Cornhuskers had to overcome a big game from Long Island first baseman Ed Jackson to leave The Corn Crib with a 6-4 victory. Jackson went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Reliever Masuhiro Miyazaki picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Bill Brock took the loss. Bill Neville was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.

The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from center fielder Andy Wuensche. For the game, Wuensche was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave DeKalb a 3-0 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Wuensche.

With the win, the Cornhuskers have a record of 29-34.
