Islanders Get Road Win, 8-4
|
The New England Colonials and Hawaii Islanders were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Skellington Stadium.
Benefiting from Douglas Dannattet's productive game, the Hawaii Islanders downed the New England Colonials, 8-4. Dannattet went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Islanders. The Islanders bumped their record to 23-17 with this latest triumph.
The Islanders had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the eighth. The score was 8-4, Hawaii, with no one out. New England, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Gil Cozart dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he struck out.
