Hackers Win Thriller, 2-1
|
Silicon Valley starter Tim Carson put a stranglehold on the Boise offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Hackers to a 2-1 win. Reliever Quiang Tu picked up the win. His record improves to 2-3. Jesús Ordóñez took the loss. Silicon Valley leads the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League by 6 games.
Derek Jeter Jr. was the walk-off hero for Silicon Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hackers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Both teams played hard," said Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller.
