Silicon Valley and Boise duked it out at San Jose Municipal Stadium and the Hackers came out victorious.
The Silicon Valley Hackers got a stellar effort from pitcher Terry Yarrigle, helping Silicon Valley score a 3-1 win over the visiting Boise Hawks. Silicon Valley reliever Guo-xiu Du picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Cristo Cruz took the loss.
Had John Berdahl not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Berdahl hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Hackers.
Yarrigle said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Hackers have an impressive 40-22 record.
