Hackers Need Extras to Top Hawks
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers wiggled past the Boise Hawks, 3-2, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Silicon Valley pitcher Ron Callaghan earned player of the game honors. Silicon Valley reliever Quiang Tu was credited with the win, to go to 1-3. Philippe Vincent took the loss for Boise. Silicon Valley is now 39-22, 5½ games up in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
The Hackers got a big at-bat from right fielder Amari Cameron. For the game, Cameron was 1-1. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 7th hit of the season gave Silicon Valley a 3-2 lead.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Callaghan.
