Snaps Lose 4-2 Decision to Predators
|
The Predators had to overcome a good performance from Cincinnati pitcher Diego Castro to claim a 4-2 win at The Studio. Castro went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Angel Chavez got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Their 27-34 record puts the Predators third in the Roy Halladay League Jim Leyland Division.
Had Kevin McVey not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, McVey hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Predators.
In postgame comments to the Topeka Chronicle, McVey said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
