The Corn Crib was the site of a tense game between the DeKalb Cornhuskers and Long Island Ducks.

The Long Island Ducks picked up a win at The Corn Crib, knocking off the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jerry Hughes played a key role in the triumph. Long Island bumps their record to 31-30 with the win.

Martin Poliskin made it 3-2 in favor of Long Island when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Ducks went on to win.

"Jerry's tempo and rhythm were good," said Ducks manager Blake Malone. "He was the key to us winning."
