Dill Helps Sandy Springs Outscore Long Island
|
The Sandy Springs-Long Island matchup at Long Island Stadium turned into a real hit parade.
A 5-RBI performance from Douglas Dill helped the Sandy Springs Spartans beat the Long Island Ducks, 11-10. Sandy Springs reliever Toshio Kawabata was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Steve Misiak took the loss.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from third baseman Todd Poliskin. For the game, Poliskin was 2-3 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 3 times. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 37th hit of the season gave Sandy Springs a 11-10 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Dill said after the game.
Sandy Springs now owns a record of 27-32.
