Cornhuskers Win at Fraser Valley, 6-3
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 6-3, at The Stetson Bowl. DeKalb catcher Gerald Easler earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. DeKalb reliever Ernesto Trevino picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. David Pena took the loss. Bill Neville was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities.
Hua Dun, who was drafted in the three round of the 2029 draft, helped out the DeKalb cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with a double.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Dun.
DeKalb bumps their record to 28-32 with the win.
